Growing Up

Dr. Nash was born in Michigan, but is practically a native Houstonian as she has lived here since the age of 9 years. She grew up in west Houston and graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1993.

Undergraduate Training

She attended Texas A&M University where she was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in biology and a bachelor of science degree in psychology in 1997. She greatly enjoyed her time in Aggieland and was active in student organizations such as Fish Camp and intramural sports.

Medical School

Dr. Nash attended the Texas Tech University School of Medicine from 1998-2000. Here she completed her basic sciences training. She also served as the treasurer of the Health Sciences Center student senate and remained an active participant in intramural sports. She transferred to the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2000 so that she could live in the same city as her husband. Here she completed her clinical medical training and was awarded a doctor of medicine degree in 2002.

Residency Training

From 2002-2003, Dr. Nash completed her internship training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She went on to complete her neurology residency training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston from 2003-2006. She was awarded Best Resident Teacher in Neurology two years in a row by the University of Texas medical students. After completion of her residency training, she pursued fellowship training in Neuromuscular Diseases at the Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her fellowship training in 2007.

Professional Information

Dr. Nash is also involved in the local medical community. She serves on several hospital committees. She also currently serves as the medical director of the Stroke program at the Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. Our goal is to provide cutting edge stroke services in the community instead of having to send patients downtown for specialized testing and treatments. She is a regular participant in the Stride for Stroke activity each Spring.

Dr. Nash also has a special interest in Sports Neurology which includes treatment of concussion, pinched nerves and other sports related neurological disorders.

Dr. Nash also enjoys treating patients with dementia, headache, neuropathy and muscle diseases.

Dr. Nash is a member of several medical organizations including the Texas Medical Association, the Harris County Medical Society, the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Personal Tidbits

Dr. Nash is married and is a mother of three boys. Her interests outside of medicine include jewelry making and fitness. She enjoys running, spinning and Tae Kwon Do. She is also an avid UFC fan!
